In the city there were no more than two hundred buildings, and suggest that the city’s inhabitants during its heyday were about 1200 people. But in 1532, all the inhabitants of Machu Picchu mysteriously disappeared. Scientists can not give an answer why it happened.
It is only known that the disappearance of the inhabitants is not directly connected with the Spanish conquistadors, who could not reach these places.
